Part original painting, part functional surfboard, each piece in Carol Hunter’s Beyond the Canvas collection is created to live between two worlds.

Each one-of-a-kind board begins as a surfboard hand shaped by a professional local surfboard shaper, then becomes Carol’s canvas. Every board is individually hand painted using expressive layers, visible brushstrokes and texture—transforming a functional surfboard into a one-of-a-kind piece of sculptural art.

Designed intentionally to be both displayed and ridden, each board remains fully surfable while also functioning as original art for the home. Hung horizontally or vertically, the shape of the board becomes part of the artwork itself.

No two boards are alike. Variations in brushwork, texture and subtle imperfections are part of the hand-painted process and celebrate the handmade nature of every original.
